The paths of designers Claesson Koivisto Rune and French designer Jean-Marie Massaud crossed one summer at the Boisbuchet design workshop. They had been invited to give separate but parallel courses at the rural Domaine de Boisbuchet near the small village of Lessac in central France, co-produced by the Vitra Design Museum and Centre Pompidou. A friendship was started.
Several years later, when Claesson Koivisto Rune was art directing the Swedish furniture textile weavers Väveriet, they invited their friend Jean-Marie Massaud to contribute. His design, Grand Pix, was a blown-up interpretation of the pixels that digital images are built up with. The pattern has been discontinued, and the Grand Pix pillows are made available through an obtained fabric stock by Smaller Objects.
