What is a bowl and what is a basket? The definition is depending on the shape, the material and how it’s used. So when the bowl becomes soft it is perhaps transformed into a basket.

The transformation from one perceived category to another function follows the designer Jin Kuramoto’s line of inspiration:

“When I was visiting a heat-press moulding factory I found an insole stashed away in a corner. It fascinated me. And I was taught about its unique production method that integrates the finishing fabrics in the hot metal tool pressing.”

A basket to throw your everyday precious objects in. Glasses, watch, phone, jewellery. Or as an organiser for knitting yarns. A soft centrepiece for the table. By the reading chair. Or bedside. Round or oblong.

The textile is furniture grade wool fabric by Kvadrat.
